inst\u00f3 hoy a los gobiernos de M\u00e9xico y de pa\u00edses centroamericanos a poner en marcha una \u201cestrategia regional amplia\u201d para atender las necesidades humanitarias inmediatas de la cantidad sin precedentes de migrantes que transitan por la regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Entre ellos se encuentran los m\u00e1s de 390.000 migrantes que seg\u00fan el Servicio Nacional de Migraci\u00f3n de Panam\u00e1 han cruzado en lo que va de a\u00f1o el Tap\u00f3n del Dari\u00e9n, una densa selva tropical que une Am\u00e9rica del Sur con Centroam\u00e9rica y lugar de paso para muchas personas que tratan de llegar a EEUU y Canad\u00e1.<\/p>\n<p>Solo en el mes de agosto, 82.000 personas procedentes en su mayor\u00eda de Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador y Hait\u00ed cruzaron esta peligrosa ruta, la cifra mensual m\u00e1s alta jam\u00e1s registrada.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLa situaci\u00f3n pone de relieve la urgente necesidad de una participaci\u00f3n colectiva inmediata de los gobiernos de los pa\u00edses de origen, tr\u00e1nsito y destino para prestar asistencia humanitaria\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 en un comunicado la directora regional de la OIM para Am\u00e9rica Central, del Norte y Caribe, Michele Klein Solomon.<\/p>\n<p>En este sentido, consider\u00f3 crucial aumentar la acci\u00f3n para \u201catender especialmente a los grupos vulnerables como mujeres y ni\u00f1os\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>En los pa\u00edses a lo largo de la ruta, los migrantes se enfrentan a desaf\u00edos como hambre, enfermedades, deshidrataci\u00f3n, robos, violencia o abusos sexuales, unos retos que el director regional de la OIM para Am\u00e9rica del Sur, Marcelo Pisani, considera \u201cdemasiado vastos para que cualquier naci\u00f3n del continente los aborde sola\u201d.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"scaip scaip-2    \"><\/aside>\n<p>La OIM destac\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n las nuevas tendencias en los flujos migratorios, como el caso cada vez m\u00e1s frecuente de cubanos y nacionales africanos que eligen las rutas a\u00e9reas para llegar a Centroam\u00e9rica a fin de evitar el Tap\u00f3n del Dari\u00e9n.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed, entre enero y julio de 2023, solo 4.100 migrantes procedentes de \u00c1frica cruzaron esta ruta, un 65 % menos que en el mismo periodo de 2022, mientras que solo 524 cubanos fueron reportados en el Dari\u00e9n durante este periodo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fuente : El
