El encuentro marca el inicio de las audiencias sobre la controversia territorial de la Guayana Esequiba, al ingresar a la sala, Gil estrech\u00f3 la mano de su hom\u00f3logo guyan\u00e9s, Hugh Todd, el gesto fue interpretado como una reafirmaci\u00f3n de la postura venezolana, la cual prioriza el di\u00e1logo y la diplomacia bajo el marco del Acuerdo de Ginebra de 1966.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Uno de los puntos m\u00e1s determinantes de la jornada fue la ratificaci\u00f3n del Esequibo como la entidad federal n\u00famero 24 de Venezuela. La Comisi\u00f3n Presidencial para la Defensa de la Guayana Esequiba present\u00f3 pruebas que vinculan legalmente esta zona con la jurisdicci\u00f3n venezolana desde la \u00e9poca colonial.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Durante su intervenci\u00f3n, Gil enfatiz\u00f3 que Venezuela ha acudido a esta instancia para que el mundo escuche la \u00abverdad jur\u00eddica\u00bb sobre derechos soberanos que considera inalienables.
