cerrada al p\u00fablico, despu\u00e9s de que la gobernadora del estado, Kathy Hochul, dejara claro que no piensa hacer una excepci\u00f3n y excluirla del cierre gubernamental de Estados Unidos vigente desde la pasada medianoche.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cSi la antorcha de la Estatua de la Libertad se apaga, ser\u00e1 gracias a los republicanos de Washington que rechazan el sentido com\u00fan y abandonan al pueblo para el que fueron elegidos como representantes\u201d, dijo en ese mensaje.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>En 2018, fecha del anterior cierre gubernamental, el entonces gobernador estatal, Andrew Cuomo, decidi\u00f3 mantener abierto el monumento, razonando entonces que era importante dar una se\u00f1al de \u201cfuerza y esperanza\u201d durante tiempos \u201ctumultuosos\u201d.<\/div>\n<div>\nEl monumento, uno de los m\u00e1s populares de Nueva York, atrajo en 2024 a 3,72 millones de visitantes, a\u00fan lejos del r\u00e9cord de 4,5 millones logrados
