convocado a comparecer este martes 12 de agosto ante la\u00a0<strong>Asamblea Nacional<\/strong>\u00a0en sesi\u00f3n extraordinaria tras la<strong>\u00a0denuncia de la tragedia<\/strong>, que habr\u00eda ocurrido en fecha a\u00fan sin precisar del pasado mes de julio.<\/p>\n<p>Como parte del proceso,\u00a0<strong>el Ministerio P\u00fablico<\/strong>\u00a0se\u00f1al\u00f3 en su cuenta en la red social X que\u00a0<strong>receptar\u00e1 versiones de madres, testigos y \u201cotras personas que podr\u00edan conocer lo sucedido\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>El organismo indic\u00f3 que\u00a0<strong>ha solicitado de manera urgente<\/strong>\u00a0a los directivos del hospital p\u00fablico las historias cl\u00ednicas e informaci\u00f3n adicional sobre los neonatos, y que la\u00a0<strong>investigaci\u00f3n fiscal\u00a0<\/strong>se realiza despu\u00e9s de que el Ministerio de Salud ecuatoriano inform\u00f3 el s\u00e1bado pasado que\u00a0<strong>12 neonatos hab\u00edan fallecido en el Hospital Universitario<\/strong>, sin dar una fecha exacta de los decesos, por causas multifactoriales derivadas del estado cl\u00ednico complicado por el nacimiento prematuro o muy prematuro de los infantes, aunque atribuidos extraoficialmente a la\u00a0<strong>ausencia de recursos en la instituci\u00f3n.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La cartera de Estado inform\u00f3 de los fallecimientos d\u00edas despu\u00e9s que el medio digital<em>\u00a0La Posta<\/em>\u00a0<strong>se\u00f1alara que 18 reci\u00e9n nacidos hab\u00edan fallecido<\/strong>\u00a0en la unidad de cuidados intensivos del hospital durante el pasado mes de julio debido a una\u00a0<strong>infecci\u00f3n asociada a la atenci\u00f3n sanitaria.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan el medio,\u00a0<strong>ante la ausencia de insumos m\u00e9dicos<\/strong>, los doctores del hospital habr\u00edan utilizado en los reci\u00e9n nacidos c\u00e1nulas nasales (tubos para administrar ox\u00edgeno)\u00a0<strong>que ya hab\u00edan usado en habr\u00eda provocado que los neonatos adquirieran l<strong>a bacteria klebsiella pneumoniae<\/strong>, productora de carbapenemas, y posteriormente<strong>\u00a0fallecieran a causa de la misma.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, el titular de Salud neg\u00f3 que 18 reci\u00e9n nacidos hubieran muerto por una contaminaci\u00f3n en la unidad de cuidados intensivos del hospital y descart\u00f3 que en el centro m\u00e9dico se est\u00e9n reutilizando insumos m\u00e9dicos, aunque\u00a0<strong>no se refiri\u00f3 a la falta de materiales<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>La Agencia de Aseguramiento de la Calidad de los Servicios de Salud y Medicina Prepagada (Acess) de Ecuador anunci\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n que iniciar\u00e1\u00a0<strong>una auditor\u00eda de calidad<\/strong>\u00a0y an\u00e1lisis de casos en el centro hospitalario.<\/p>\n<p>La instituci\u00f3n estatal, encargada de controlar la calidad de servicios p\u00fablicos y privados de salud, en un comunicado se\u00f1al\u00f3 que<strong>\u00a0recabar\u00e1 informaci\u00f3n\u00a0<\/strong>e indicios que permitan esclarecer l<strong>as causas del fallecimiento de los reci\u00e9n administraci\u00f3n de Guillermo Lasso (2021-2023),\u00a0<strong>critic\u00f3 la reducci\u00f3n de aproximadamente 500 millones de d\u00f3lares en el presupuesto sanitario\u00a0<\/strong>desde diciembre de 2023. Ruales tambi\u00e9n cuestion\u00f3\u00a0<strong>la gesti\u00f3n deficiente del sector sanitario bajo la actual administraci\u00f3n\u00a0<\/strong>la cual ha continuado dicha tendencia.<\/p>\n<p>En el mercado,\u00a0<strong>el precio unitario de una c\u00e1nula respiratoria ronda los 2.20 d\u00f3lares.\u00a0<\/strong>Multiplicado por los 18 pacientes afectados,\u00a0<strong>el gasto total habr\u00eda sido de apenas 39.60 d\u00f3lares,<\/strong>\u00a0lo que ha intensificado la indignaci\u00f3n p\u00fablica ante la aparente negligencia.<\/p>\n<p>La convocatoria parlamentaria busca\u00a0<strong>esclarecer las circunstancias<\/strong>\u00a0que llevaron a la tragedia e implementar<strong>\u00a0medidas urgentes para prevenir\u00a0<\/strong>que situaciones similares se repitan en el futuro.
