El sat\u00e9lite venezolano\u00a0<strong>Sucre<\/strong>, actualmente en \u00f3rbita, fue programado para captar im\u00e1genes de alta resoluci\u00f3n sobre la zona de estudio.<\/p>\n<p>Estos datos permitir\u00e1n\u00a0<strong>identificar firmas espectrales caracter\u00edsticas del pl\u00e1stico<\/strong>, especialmente del tereftalato de polietileno (PET), y distinguirlo de otros elementos como el agua o materiales org\u00e1nicos flotantes.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote td_pull_quote td_pull_center is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e202b8e91988521c00ca44e298a12247\">\u201cSe trata de obtener im\u00e1genes que permitan\u00a0<strong>clasificar y ubicar c\u00famulos de desechos pl\u00e1sticos en el mar<\/strong>\u201d, explic\u00f3\u00a0<strong>Jes\u00fas Camacho<\/strong>, ingeniero en geociencias e integrante del equipo t\u00e9cnico. A\u00f1adi\u00f3 que se aplicar\u00e1n\u00a0<strong>correcciones estad\u00edsticas y matem\u00e1ticas<\/strong>\u00a0para realzar los valores espectrales de los residuos.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Como parte del experimento, el equipo construy\u00f3 y posicion\u00f3\u00a0<strong>seis segmentos flotantes compuestos por m\u00e1s de 3.000 botellas pl\u00e1sticas<\/strong>, usados como marcadores de referencia para el an\u00e1lisis satelital. Esta tecnolog\u00eda puede marcar un antes y un despu\u00e9s en la gesti\u00f3n del pl\u00e1stico en nuestras costas\u201d, asegur\u00f3 S\u00e1nchez.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Este esfuerzo cient\u00edfico se enmarca en una\u00a0<strong>estrategia nacional de conservaci\u00f3n marina<\/strong>, que tambi\u00e9n ha incluido jornadas ciudadanas de recolecci\u00f3n de residuos.
