Sin embargo, no toc\u00f3 tierra como estaba previsto y todos los esfuerzos por establecer contacto fracasaron.<\/p>\n<p>A ra\u00edz de los hechos, el presidente de la naci\u00f3n, Lazarus Chakwera, cancel\u00f3 un vuelo que ten\u00eda previsto a las Bahamas y orden\u00f3 una operaci\u00f3n de b\u00fasqueda.<\/p>\n<p>De acuerdo con medios locales, Chilima viajaba en un helic\u00f3ptero de las Fuerzas de Defensa que al parecer vio interrumpido su itinerario debido a inclemencias meteorol\u00f3gicas. Se teme que la aeronave haya tenido un accidente durante un aterrizaje forzoso.<\/p>\n<p>Fuentes afirman haber presenciado un accidente a\u00e9reo en una zona forestal de la localidad de Chikangawa, que se cree que est\u00e1 asociado con Chilima.
